      I wonder if this one was too new to smell at all, because Elka was in fact only cooperating with my cues for the photo op. I'd never seen such a new fire hydrant!

  5. The first time Rufus peed on a hydrant, I actually said "ugh...what a cliche." I don't think he took it too hard.

  6. My dogs love fire hydrants! but my guide dogs pups aren't allowed to pee on them.

    1. Really, they're probably an oasis of concentrated scents. I can see why guide dogs wouldn't be allowed to pee on them, though! You don't want that level of consistent permitted distraction.

  7. Hi Elka, Twiggy seems to like fire hydrants. She even lifts her leg sometimes - what other female dog does that?!? :) Maybe we'll see you at BlogPaws 2013??
