Good news, y'all! Remember Hawk? Well I clicked on his listing link the other day, and he's been adopted!
Other good news: Duchess has been getting some interest! Maybe the pretty girl will have a doberman-savvy home of her own very very soon (fingers crossed).
In April, Ruthie was adopted! I wrote about her in March, so that's awesome, and fast. I posted about Obie in January, and he found a home as well! He was with Dreaming of Better Endings Rescue, in Pennsylvania, where you can still read his story and see other Dobermans in need of homes.
Congrats to the lovely Dobermans in need who have found their forever homes! Elka knew they could do it. Here's to many long walks and many nights snuggling on the couch.

Duchess, with Georgia Doberman Rescue
This is Duchess. She's a cropped and docked albino female who has been in rescue for over a year. She was originally with Southern Doberman Rescue, after somebody saw her for sale on Craigslist as a breeding female. They got her from that person, and then turned her into rescue to be spayed and rehomed. Then she made her way to Georgia Doberman Rescue.
(I got the picture from the Georgia Doberman Rescue Facebook page)

Conklin NY Dobermans: and then there were 3
There are still 3 Dobermans left at the Broome County Humane Society, waiting for homes!
My handsome Houston went home not long after my last post on the Conklin dogs. You can also check out the Broome County Humane Society Facebook page to see some pictures of the lovely Sasha in her wonderful new home! You can also scroll down and see a picture of Emma (formerly Eclipse) that her forever home shared, and a picture of Storm the day he was rescued. He just breaks my heart.
Storm, Dusty, and Nani wait for somebody to need just the right Doberman in their lives.

The Doberman: Color
Elka is a black and rust Doberman.
You may or may not know, the Doberman breed comes in four "acceptable" colors: black and rust, red and rust, blue and rust, and fawn and rust. The Doberman Pinscher Club of America has a page, and chart, on Color Inheritance, if you're interested. I remember drawing those squares back in seventh grade science class! In short, though, Black is the dominant color. Red is the other primary color (for lack of a better word. Black is dominant over red, however). Blue is a dilution of the Black Dobermans, and Fawn is a dilution of the Red (sometimes referred to as "brown", depending on who you talk to).
shocking, right?
