My name is Jen. I saw a blog party going on, and thought I would join in! In college, I majored in Psychology, with a strong interest in other things like Anthropology, Philosophy, and Creative Writing. I'm working as a library clerk, which is a good thing, because I wouldn't be able to afford all of the dog books that I read! My fiance, Jim, and I got our Doberman, Elka, in 2008. She was born in May, she came home in July, and has been a wonderful facet of our lives since. I've learned a lot about dogs and about dog training since then, and started this blog as a result. I also have a Twitter of the same name if you want to hop on over there, @TheElkaAlmanac
Elka looks beautiful! : ) I just stopped by to say hello during our Blog Hop Party. I look forward to checking back in the future.

Thanks so much! She loves compliments!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by. You're right--lots to read at All Things Dog Blog. Looks like you're having fun training Elka. Enjoy and visit again soon: http://www.allthingsdogblog.com
ReplyDeleteElka is just beautiful, love her name too! Next to GSD's Dobermans are one of our favorites. Found you on the Meet and Greet Hop. Have a Great Day!
ReplyDeleteIt is so nice to meet you and Elka, she is just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty pup Elka is. I would be *fascinated* to hear her say "OUT". We keep trying to teach Koly to seak, but so far, nothing!
ReplyDeleteOh, Elka is very talkative! I gather it's a feature of the breed, perhaps, but we've always encouraged it. If I can get her to talk rather than whine, it's a good deal!
ReplyDeleteInterestingly, I can't get her to bark. She'll bark a single time if there's somebody on the porch or in the driveway, but that's it, which really is very good. But a single bark on command in other venues would be fun too.
