Browsing on Etsy, as one does, I found Laika the Psychic Dog, who does one card Tarot readings (via Rare & Pretty). Or did do them; by the time of this posting, she has evidently given up prognosticating. Given that one of the Trick Dog tricks is 'picking a card', I'm sort of kicking myself for having not come up with this before. Doberman Tarot Card Reader would have been a pretty cool thing, but i don't want to step on anybody's toes. One also needs an actual Fortunteteller's License to prognosticate in my town, an interesting detail which involves a test of some form that the city clerk would be required to provide. Depending on how much that cost, it might be worth it, just for a lark. Maybe not. But Elka wouldn't be able to take the test (though it would be hard to prove a Clever Hans style fallacy in this situation as well. Part of the point of pulling cards blind is, well, you're blind.)

Foster Homes Needed for Doberman Rescue Minnesota!
In March, I wrote about Doberman Rescue Minnesota and the fabulous work that they do for Dobermans in need.
But, because Doberman Rescue Minnesota is not a kennel, but rather relies upon foster homes to house their rescued dogs, they are in need of volunteers, especially foster homes. So, if you're in Minnesota and would like to foster or otherwise volunteer, you can fill out their online Volunteer Application.
I'm sure a lot of rescues are hurting. This year, Special Needs Dobermans stopped being able to help private owners, due to a shortage in funds. But yesterday, Meadowcat (remember Meadowcat? She has an Etsy store now, by the by. And has expanded into collars. Maisie at Reactive Champion did a review.)

Just missed Christmas Etsy fun
I'm told a lot of people do their Christmas shopping on Christmas Eve. Nowadays, I think some stores even have some sooper dooper last minute sales, for those 11th hour gift seekers.
It's certainly too late now to get anything shipped for Christmas, but one could certainly order and print a picture, and then put it in an envelope with a "Watch the mail for....!" card. Right? Or is that weird? Maybe it's weird.
Regardless. Submitted for your approval, more Etsy finds!

Place an order through Zen Paw Creations, help Dobermans!
Zen Paw Creations, on Etsy, has a fantastic offer right now. When you place an order through them, $5 gets donated to the Doberman Assistance Network (when you note it in the order comments, of course, that you're ordering with this in mind).

Perusing the store, she really has some nifty stuff. People who know me, though, know that I really like jewelry.

So, if there's a dog lover in your life who you think would be thrilled with the double gift of a custom made piece and a donation to help Dobermans in need, consider picking something up for them from the Zen Paw Creations store on Etsy.

ParaMutt Products: sales help Dobermans!
Just last week, I posted about some great stuff on Etsy. This week, I posted about an auction for a collar on eBay (finished by now), that would benefit the Doberman Assistance Network. Well guess what? Today I'm writing about something that combines these two ideas in a wonderful way!
ParaMutts Products is an Etsy store (with a Facebook as well) where you can get a variety of handmade, sometimes custom made, paracord collars for your dog. AND, most of the proceeds from these sales go to the Doberman Assistance Network. Pretty rad, right?

Etsy Esoteria
Like many people (you know who you are), I dearly love Etsy. Not that I ever purchase very much on Etsy, mind you, nor will I probably ever sell anything there. I just like browsing, getting ideas, seeing what exists in the world.
Of course, my frequent topic of browsing is "dogs", or "dog training", or "Doberman". It seems no matter how specific you get, somebody has something. It's pretty neat.
So, some things I've found. Elka kept me company on the couch while browsing occurred.
