Dogs don't know it's their birthdays, of course, but it was present time anyway. We took a field trip to the Feed and Seed, and spent some time squeaking toys in the toy aisle (well, I squeaked them. Elka reacted or didn't), and then smelling the dried animal parts treats, and Elka made her selections. I tried to take pictures there, honestly I did, but Elka was SO EXCITED and I thought it best to keep track of her and reinforce attention and listening skills instead.
We got a BIG Bad Cuz (I didn't know they made them this size!) The squeaker is a little more squawky, which she seems to like a great deal. I've been happy with JW Pets toys, so I didn't mind getting this one. Our original Bad Cuz still has its feet and everything, but Elka is more enthusiastic about playing with it sometimes than others. This one, though larger, is harder to squeak (or squawk) and I think that adds to the fun.
She also picked a beef tendon, which was labeled "Made in USA" and didn't smell nearly as bad as the bully sticks the store had, so I was happy to go along with it. Once home, I had to remind her a couple of times she couldn't eat it on the couch, and she bounced around with both the toy and the treat for some time, before crunching the beef away.
