With my "Just a dog" post, I was reminded of two previous times I touched on buying from less than reputable breeders: A Bargain Doberman is Not a Good Deal and Don't Buy From a Puppy Mill, Charlie Brown!
I also am always happy to mention FreeKibble!, a site which I visit daily in order to answer a trivia question about dogs, and then about cats. Each question answered (correctly or not) gets ten kibbles for shelter pets, and that really adds up with enough people clicking! Free Kibble also tends to be right there in situations like the tornadoes in Joplin Missouri, and others, making sure that dogs and cats have food.
Elka, as you can imagine, gets fidgety when I'm sick. She's happy to sleep on the couch with me (she's a blanket hog sometimes, I tell you) but we also, when I can muster the energy, play some low impact inside games. Find it! is a perennial favorite, and Kongs are always a hit.
You still look pretty cool in that picture. Elka with an attitude

Please get well soon - I hope you have a comfy thursday on the couch together.
ReplyDeleteAwww get well soon! What a horrible time of year to be ill. =b
ReplyDeleteI have to confess, while I had the flu I "invented" a game called "Get the cookie!" I thrown the cookie as far as I can from the sofa, Silas sprints off to get it, and then I call him back for another cookie. Then he sits until I send him after the next cookie. He gets to run at top speed and to practice his recall. I get to sit still.
ReplyDeleteOh noes, sorry abouts your Moms bein' sick Elka! Ya know what makes the Moms happy when they're sick??? bouncin' on the sofa! BOL I gets all kinds of fun noises from my Ma when I do that! hehehe
ReplyDeleteHopes she feels better soon....there are walkies to be had!
Kisses,
Ruby
I hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteOhh..shame your Mom is sick! I wish her the best and that she gets better soon!
ReplyDeleteI hear you about not knowing what day it is - working night shifts, I seem perpetually confused as to day and date sometimes. Prayers and best wishes for a speedy recovery (but don't push it!). Eka, take care of your mom.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed all the links - I, too, visit Free Kibble daily - the trivia is a blast!
We should try playing "Find it" with the collies on rainy days! We do play hide n seek with them, a game in which they take absurd pleasure in playing the role of seekers! They get so excited when we tell them one of us is hiding, and they need to go find us! :)
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better soon!
I'm going to check out that kibble site!!
ReplyDeleteSorry you were feeling crappy, I do hope you are on the mend. :-)
