Iris, with Last Hope Doberman Rescue in Texas

Iris is a four year old, natural-eared fawn Doberman with Last Hope Doberman Rescue in Texas. She was found as a stray in Amarillo, Texas. You have to wonder how she ended up like that, poor little girl! But she's safe now. And look at that face!

Iris is spayed, microchipped, up to date on her shots, and heartworm negative. Also negative for tick borne illnesses, significant because she was covered in ticks when found (I shudder to envision this). She's crate trained and house trained, and very laid back and friendly. They say she's okay with men, and LOVES women and other dogs.

Iris is currently being fostered in Killeen, Texas. If you think she'll be a good fit for your family, you can find the adoption form here. If you have any questions, you can find the Last Hope Doberman Rescue contact form on this page, which also lists an email address and phone number. LHDR is a 501 c3 non profit organization, and adoption fees are $250. The adopter must be 21 or over, be willing to maintain appropriate veterinary car, and willing to donate appropriate time to training and exercise.

  1. It's pretty unusual so a Doberman with natural ears always catches my eye. Hope she finds her forever home soon.

BTW, I recently picked up an issue of Reader's Digest that had several letters raving about Dobermans. Apparently, they must have published a piece that people felt was disparaging to the breed.

Whenever I see such a thing, it's a nice counter balance to the unhappy stories we read in dog world.
