Bonnie, with Illinois Doberman Rescue, is SND Senior of the Week

This is Bonnie. She's the Special Needs Dobermans Senior of the Week!

(picture from her Illinois Doberman Rescue page)

Bonnie is a 7 year old cropped and docked red girl who's with Illinois Doberman Rescue Plus.  According to their page, she was surrendered to a shelter when her elderly owner died, and was adopted out. Unfortunately, she and the resident dog were not a good fit, and when her subsequent owners returned her to the shelter, the shelter contacted IDR+.

So far as the "cat test" goes, Bonnie has ignored them, and she can be somewhat bossy with other dogs, depending. She's housebroken and travels well in the car.

If you're interested in adopting Bonnie, or learning more about her, and you're within adoptable range for IDR+, you can email them at orphandobe AT ameritech DOT net, and more information about their adoption process can be found here. If you simply want to sponsor Bonnie, you can do so on her Special Needs Dobermans Senior Doberman Project page, or through her Illinois Doberman Rescue Plus page.

  1. I wish I lived close enough to adopt her! She is a beauty. That smiles is gorgeous. I don't doubt that someone will adopt her and she will live a happy, loving life.

  2. Wow, she's a real, marvelous beauty! Bonnie, you look so stunning! I've a chihuahua named Bessie. She's also a dazzling female. I love her so much!

  3. Even tho i leave this comment a little bit too late, i am still saying that i am sorry i am not living close enough to adopt her. She really is a beauty and with a hearth melting smile!
