The treats themselves are smallish and oblong. Big enough you could break them in two, but they kind of crumble, and then the resulting pieces are rather small for a dog Elka's size to consider "worth it". Oh, she still does, but I just give 'em to her whole. And she loves cheese.
These smell very nice indeed, rather like croutons. And I love both cheese and croutons. No, I didn't sample them. But Elka enjoyed them quite a lot. They have a short and encouraging ingredient list of actual food items: (from Chewy.com product description)
Fresh Wisconsin Parmesan cheese, pea flour, potato flour, tapioca, whole peas, chicken fat, tomato pomace, fresh cranberries, sweet potatoes, carrots, apples, split peas, green beans, green bell peppers, celery, beets, oregano, parsley, lettuce, watercress, spinach.
Other than the chicken fat (and perhaps the tomato pomace?), looks like something one's gluten free friend might have for a snack, n'est-ce pas?
But, this is the kind of product I like purchasing for Elka, and I was more than happy to have the opportunity to review it! I definitely recommend the Fromm's Four Star Nutritionals Treats in Parmesan anyway; we'll have to try out some of the other flavors, and see what they have to offer.
