A slightly longer video this time, and one that's certainly more representative of how Elka typically plays in her puddle!
She runs towards me at the end there because there's a pavilion right next to the puddle, with public restrooms, and a jogger had just emerged from one of them.
That's cute! I supposedly have water dogs (Labrador Retrievers and Golden Retrievers) and so far they avoid water and puddles like it's the plague. Maybe my next puppy will be more of a water dog like Elka.
ReplyDeleteShe didn't used to be a water dog, that's for sure! I let her approach puddles and the creek on her own time, though, and now they're great, apparently!
DeleteShe still doesn't like the rain, though.
Looks like fun! I like puddles too:-) But I hate baths
ReplyDeleteElka also hates baths! It's kind of funny.
DeleteBrilliant playing in puddles. Have a great Monday Elka.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
It looks like fun, doesn't it! Happy Monday.
DeleteShe is adorable in the puddles! Sherman and Leroy just lay in puddles!
ReplyDeleteSometimes she'll bow really deep, and I think "oh, here she goes, she'll lay down", but she hasn't yet. The splashy splashy makes me laugh...it's hard to keep quiet for the videos!
DeleteSuch a gorgeous girl.. she looks so regal, even when splashing around in a mud puddle!
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks!
DeleteSo cute. She's really having a blast. :-)
ReplyDeleteElka makes her own fun!
DeleteAlthough that looks like fun, we have a feeling it means b-a-t-h
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
Nah, the puddle is at about the midpoint of our walk, so she's dry and if there's any mud, it's long gone by the time we go home. Sometimes she'll get some on her harness, but that washes off.
DeletePro tip: Even if puddles are fun, baths are not.
Is Elka still a puppy? That looks like so much fun. :)
ReplyDeleteElka is 3, so technically a "grown up", I'd say. She still lobes to have fun, though!
DeleteLooks like fun to me!
ReplyDeleteI know, right? Fun every time!
DeleteSo cute!
ReplyDeleteSilas does not like water. At all. A quick bath is tolerable, but voluntary water-entering is a big no. When he did puppy classes they had a wading pool. Silas would wait patiently for the other dogs to get out of the pool, then play with them.
Oh how funny, that Silas would wait for them to come out! We all have our particulars.
DeleteCuteness overload!!
ReplyDeleteNola's Mom
It's got to be hard, being that cute all the time!
Deleteawwwwwwww
ReplyDeleteThanks! ^^
DeleteOMG. This is precious! I love it. I love how she pauses after a big splash to look around, to make sure you were watching/that you saw how FUN this was.
ReplyDeleteSemi-unrelated, but, wow, Elka is making me want a doberman...
Hah, yes, Elka does that frequently "Did you SEE? Isn't this GREAT? Look at me!"
DeleteDobermans are a hard breed to pass up, once you know about them ;)
Oh my goodness, she's a cutie. I have major doberman envy right now!
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, that's a natural feeling ;)
DeleteThat is just the cutest!!
ReplyDeleteCutest. thing. ever. I love when big dogs act like little puppies. :]
ReplyDeleteIt's one of the best things!
DeleteLooks like fun!
ReplyDeleteSo cute, I just love Dobermans! I always thought I would end up adopting one, but when the time came to do so, I ended up with a Wolf Dog and Malinois. They are such beautiful dogs though, so smart!
ReplyDeleteI never can understand what is is with dogs and small bodies of water, my Luna will splash about but will never actually go swimming when there's more of it around!
