Dogs and their Owners

What's that they say, about dogs and their owners resembling one another?

My single grey hair (discovered last week. Did you know it's rather hard to take a picture of one's own head? I supposed I could've asked somebody, but didn't think of it):

Elka's single white hair (much harder to see, apologies, so I drew an arrow. It's on her flank, not her head):

Now, I'm sure my grey hair is because I'm *sigh* 30. Elka's white hair on her side, I have no idea. I know dogs will frequently grow back white hairs after an injury, but to my knowledge, she hasn't hurt herself in that manner. Or she did on the scale of a single hair follicle and I missed it. Go figure.

(I thought about posting this for Black and White Sunday, but thought that might be a little too tongue in cheek....)

  3. I was thinking about, how to make a photo of your own head. Think I must try it :o) Think the resembling thingy is true. I've got a poor ear the same day as dad...

  4. Chessies can prematurely grey. Could it be the beginning of that? Much easier to see on a dark background.

  5. Mom had a discussion with us about that. She said although we are the cutest thing ever, she would prefer not to look like us

  6. Haha! One time I had a lady tell me that my hair was the same color as my dogs-I told her that was because we use the same hair color!

  10. I've had gray hairs since my early 20's. It'll be tough to see on Blueberry since she's black and white already - so I expect she'll age gracefully!

I also find it highly amusing that you would notice that one little white hair on Elka - not that's just proof how attentive you are to the details!!

  11. Silas is getting faint brown spots as he gets older. Me...I've been going grey since I was a teenager. I'm solidly in the redhead's equivalent of salt-and-pepper territory, and I'm only a year older than you.

  12. Be glad it's just one - couldn't count the grays on me or any of our dogs. Mine because 'only my hairdresser knows for sure', Jack because he's a yellow lab, and Maggie because she has too many :(

  14. Justus has several grey hairs on his nose and body besides the whitish patch on his chest. He's only about 3 y/o. Interesting. Oh, and I call my grey "silver :)".

  15. Although my hair is silver and Honey's is gold, they're hard to tell apart when I'm delinting my clothes. I guess that's a good thing because I can just blame Honey if I go to work looking less than perfect. :)
