Springtime Shenanigans

We've had an upswing in....temperature anyway. We're pretty spotty when it comes to whether it's raining from one moment to the next.

One day after work, Elka and I drove to the park to make sure we could maximize the sunlight we might be able to have (it rained within an hour after getting home).

I didn't bring any treats this time, just a tiny squeaky toy that I keep in my pocket. We weren't too concerned with "rules", just basic manners and some cued behaviors to keep it interesting.

I'm happy to report Elka recalled well, remembered her "paws up" nicely, and in general had a good time. We did not see any snakes, though perhaps she was looking for some?

Actually, we didn't see much at all in the way of critters or even other people while on our walk. To me, that's kind of a relief, because I don't need to worry about people looking askance at either my choice of dog breed, or the two of us being goofy. I did get this great shot of Elka making a rather gooftastic face.

  8. I prefer having the parks to myself. LOL Considering all the off-leash dogs I encounter.
